  • Invar 36 Details

Invar36 is a special low expansion iron-nickel alloy with ultra-low expansion coefficient. The control of carbon and manganese components is very important. Cold deformation can reduce the coefficient of thermal expansion, and heat treatment within a specific temperature range can stabilize the coefficient of thermal expansion.

    Product characteristics:

Has extremely low thermal expansion coefficient between -250 ℃ and+200 ℃.

    Good plasticity and toughness.

    Application area:

Invar 36 is used in environments that require extremely low expansion coefficients.

    Typical applications are as follows:

    ● Production, storage, and transportation of liquefied gas.

Measurement and control instruments with operating temperatures below+200 ℃, such as temperature regulating devices.

    ● Spiral connector bushings between metal and other materials.

    ● Bimetal and temperature controlled bimetallic.

    ● Membrane frame.

    Shadow mask

Tempering molds for CRP components in the aviation industry.

Electronic control unit framework for artificial satellites and missiles below -200 ℃.

Auxiliary electronic tube in the electromagnetic lens of the laser control device.

    Physical property:

    Density: ρ= 8.1g/cm3

    Melting temperature range: 1430 ℃

    Curie temperature: 230 ℃

    Specific heat: 515J/Kg

    Weld:

Invar 36 can be welded using all welding processes, including tungsten electrode welding, metal arc welding, plasma welding, argon arc welding, manual arc welding, etc. Firstly, consider using pulse arc welding.

Before welding, the material should be in an annealed state, clean, and free from oil stains, scratches, marking paint, etc.

Low heat input must be used, and the interlayer temperature should be below 120 ℃.

No pre and post weld heat treatment is required.

    Recommended welding materials for Invar36.

If the performance of the weld seam is designed to be the same as the base metal,

it is necessary to use welding rods of the same material as the base metal. Alternatively, choose.
